Residential Care

Who is it for?

Residential care at Ridgegate Home is designed for elderly individuals who need support with daily living activities but don't require specialist nursing care. This includes assistance with dressing, bathing, meal preparation, medication management, and mobility support.

Many of our residents come to us because they've been faced with greater day-to-day challenges in safely managing within their own home, or have experienced loneliness and a lack of mental and physical stimulation. Others choose residential care to relieve the burden on family members who have been providing care.

Our smaller community of up to 23 residents ensures a peaceful, home-like atmosphere where everyone is known by name and receives truly personalised attention from our dedicated care team.

Residential Care

Our Approach

Our skilled care teams work 24 hours a day, every day, to provide care tailored to meet each individual's personal, mental and health requirements. In this way we can help residents lead a fulfilled and contented lifestyle and remain as independent as they want to be.

Each resident receives a personalised care plan developed in consultation with them and their family. This plan is regularly reviewed and updated as circumstances change, ensuring care evolves with each resident's needs.

Our beautiful period property offers comfortable, well-appointed rooms (most with en-suite facilities), peaceful communal lounges, attractive gardens, and wheelchair access throughout. Our kitchen team prepares nutritious, home-cooked meals daily, and our activities coordinator provides a varied programme of events and activities designed to enhance wellbeing.

As a registered charity established in 1946, we're not driven by profit – we're driven by our commitment to enhancing quality of life for elderly residents in Reigate.

TESTIMONIALS

What people say about us...

My dad has lived at Ridgegate Home for just over a year now and I couldn't be happier with the level of care he receives. Ridgegate is a friendly family home and is a lovely place to visit at any time of the day. My dad suffers with both physical and mental health issues and I am grateful to the attentive staff who make sure he is included in the many home activities.
I have no hesitation in recommending Ridgegate to others.

Daughter of Resident

Respite care for mum went well and provided opportunity for a much needed break. All staff were helpful and courteous and mum was happy with her experience. She was able to get her hair done whilst there and made friends with many of the residents. Thanks for taking care of her!

My wife has been in Ridgegate for approximately for 2 years She initially arrived for respite care and then progressed to become a resident. She suffered from Lewy body dementia which affects her memory and physical movement. She is well looked after and seems to be very happy as much as you can tell. She interacts with the staff at all levels. I was well looked after and cared for by the dedicated and management team.

When is residential care needed?

Residential care may be needed when daily tasks become too challenging to manage safely at home, when an individual experiences frequent falls or mobility issues, when loneliness affects mental wellbeing, or when family carers can no longer provide the level of support needed.
