Statement of Purpose

Our Aim is to offer people in later life the opportunity to live in comfortable surroundings, in a relaxed and secure family environment, with the degree of care that is necessary to enhance the quality of life for the individual.
We support our residents by offering the core values, which are fundamental to the philosophy of Ridgegate Home, being; privacy, comfort, dignity, independence, choice and rights.

The right of a person living at Ridgegate to be left alone and undisturbed whenever they wish. The right to be given the care and support they need in a way that reflects their own views and choices.
The right to take calculated and reasonable risks, to make their own decisions and act and think for themselves.
Giving a resident the opportunity to select for themselves from a range of alternative options. To provide opportunities that improves the quality of life for people living at Ridgegate, but always to be aware that they have the right to choose.
Respecting all basic human rights.
Enabling the residents to realise their own aims and choices as to how they live their own life.
Maintaining and promoting independence is key when considering planning the individual care for each of our residents at Ridgegate. This principle will be achieved through individual programmes of activities and occupations designed to encourage independence and maintain skills. Also opportunities will be available to gain new skills and hobbies.
A raised level of self-esteem will be encouraged for each resident by appropriate stimulation, therapies, social interaction and informed choice.
